16.2.5 Strengthening Integrity and Combating Corruption at UniMAP

Pelan Antirasuah Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) 2024–2028 represents UniMAP’s steadfast commitment to upholding integrity, ethical conduct, and transparency in all aspects of university governance and operations. This comprehensive plan outlines strategic initiatives and preventive measures to combat corruption, fraud, and unethical behavior within the institution.

UniMAP’s Anti-Corruption Policy serves as a vital framework for maintaining the university’s integrity and reputation. It provides clear guidance for preventing, detecting, and addressing bribery and corruption across all levels of operation. By implementing this policy, UniMAP aims to safeguard against significant legal, financial, and reputational risks that could affect both the university and its stakeholders.

The policy ensures fair and transparent practices in critical areas such as research management, procurement processes, financial administration, and student admissions. It also reinforces whistleblower protection, encouraging staff and students to report any unethical or corrupt activities without fear of retaliation.

Through this initiative, UniMAP fosters a strong culture of accountability and good governance, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
