Background

In an effort to strengthen community welfare, PIMPIN organized the “Food Basket Donation” initiative to provide essential daily items to eligible UniMAP staff. This contribution aims to alleviate daily burdens and provide tangible benefits to those in need.

Event Objectives

  • To provide essential daily items (e.g., basic food and household necessities) to eligible UniMAP staff.
  • To support the university’s efforts in enhancing staff welfare and fostering a strong sense of community.
  • To promote a culture of mutual support and care within the higher education institution.

Alignment with SDG 2 – Zero Hunger

SDG 2 aims to “end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.” While the broader targets of SDG 2 focus on agriculture, production, and food systems, initiatives such as food basket donations at the institutional level contribute directly to ensuring access to sufficient and nutritious food for individuals within the community.

  • Target 2.1: “By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food all year round.”
