17.4.2 Integrating Sustainability Across Programmes and Courses

UniMAP integrates sustainability education across a wide range of academic programmes and courses, ensuring that students gain knowledge and competencies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At the programme level, UniMAP offers specialised degrees such as the Bachelor of Environmental Engineering with Honours, which focuses on environmental protection, sustainable resource management, and pollution control. The programme includes key sustainability-related courses such as Environmental Law, Health and Safety, Solid and Hazardous Waste Engineering, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Sustainable Energy, preparing graduates to address sustainability challenges in industry and society.

At the course level, sustainability principles are embedded throughout the curriculum. A search for the keyword “sustainable” in the UniMAP Academic Guidebook identifies more than 80 undergraduate courses incorporating sustainability within their learning outcomes or course objectives.
