Educational Programmes Supporting Sustainable Food & Agriculture Systems

At Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), our academic offerings are designed to equip graduates with skills and knowledge relevant to sustainable food production, food‑technology, environmental protection and agricultural systems — directly supporting the aims of SDG 2.4.1 (“…by 2030 ensure that all youth and a substantial proportion of adults, both men and women, achieve literacy and numeracy and technical and vocational skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship in agriculture‑related sectors”).

Graduate Outcomes:

  • Bachelor of Agricultural Engineering with Honours (under the Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Mekanikal – Kejuruteraan Pertanian): 17 graduates.
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Agricultural Systems) with Honours (also under Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Mekanikal – Teknologi Kejuruteraan Mekanikal (Sistem Pertanian)): 14 graduates.
  • Bachelor of Environmental Engineering with Honours (under the Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Awam – Kejuruteraan Alam Sekitar): 45 graduates.
  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Technology (Food Technology) with Honours (under the Fakulti Kejuruteraan & Teknologi Kimia – Teknologi Kejuruteraan Kimia (Teknologi Makanan)): 49 graduates.

  • Agricultural Engineering & Mechanical Engineering (Agricultural Systems) target the design, implementation and maintenance of agricultural technologies and systems that enhance productivity and sustainability.
  • Environmental Engineering addresses critical issues of water, waste, pollution and resource management — all key components in resilient food systems.
  • Chemical Engineering Technology (Food Technology) prepares graduates for roles in food processing, safety, value‑addition and innovation, thus supporting the food value chain.

By producing graduates with these specialised skills, UniMAP contributes to ensuring “technical and vocational skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship in agriculture‑related sectors” as targeted in SDG 2.4.1.
