6.2.2 Efficient Water Consumption Management at UniMAP in 2024
Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is committed to ensuring the sustainable use and management of water resources in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. The university continuously monitors its water usage to promote efficiency and conservation across all campuses.
For the reporting year, UniMAP recorded the following key data:
Total volume of water used (inbound – treated water): 946,623 m³
Campus population: 14,805 people
Average water consumption per person: 63.94 m³/person
These figures reflect UniMAP’s ongoing efforts to optimize water consumption through improved infrastructure, awareness campaigns, and efficient management practices. Continuous monitoring enables the university to identify potential areas for water savings and to implement initiatives that reduce overall water usage while maintaining a healthy and sustainable campus environment.
